Before and After School Care
BEFORE SCHOOL CARE
Opening hours
Before School Care is available from 7.45am to 8.30am when children are taken to their classrooms. It is available on an occasional as well as a regular basis. Please note that no child should be left alone at the school before 8.30am so if you arrive early and are unable to wait with your child, he/she must go to Before School Care.
Activities
We offer a continental style breakfast at no extra cost. The children can choose from:
Non-sweetened cereal with semi-skimmed milk; toast and preserves; fruit juice, milk or water; fresh fruit.
Children are free to socialise during this time. They can choose to play games, use the computer, or participate in a craft activity such as mask making, clay modelling etc. Quieter activities such as colouring, reading and Hama beads are also available. During the summer months we make use of the playground directly outside the Before School Care building

After school care
Opening hours
After School Care and Prep is available from 3.30pm to 5.45pm every day. Sessions can be arranged on an ad hoc or regular basis but should be pre-booked. Older children may book themselves into the sessions.
Activities
The children are split into two groups according to age.
The children in Nursery to Year 2 are taken to the main After School Care room where they can choose from a range of activities including the reading area, the computer, construction toys and craft. Sometimes the children have the chance to do cooking or watch a DVD and they are able to use the Nursery and Reception playground. A snack is available or they can take their own if they prefer.
The children in Years 3 to 6 spend the first hour of the After School Care session doing their prep in a quiet classroom under supervision. Once they have finished their work, they read quietly until the end of the period at which time they join the younger children in the After School Care Room and join their activities.

If you are unavoidably delayed when collecting your child, please contact After School Care on 07972 221386 and let them know your estimated arrival time. If you arrive after 6pm, your child will have been transferred to the Senior School and you should collect your child from Senior School Reception. After 6pm, you will need to use the boarding house number to contact the school – 01904 667514.
Holiday provision
Holiday club
We offer holiday provision for children aged 4 and above for a number of weeks during the summer and Easter holidays. These are managed and run by an external company and are open to all children in the area.
In addition specialist clubs are organised to make use of the school facilities, for example our summer cricket academy.
