School Charities

Charities
We provide an environment in which children are encouraged to become involved in charitable activities. As far as possible, we aim for these to be led by the children. They choose charities they want to support and organise their own fund raising activities.  This year, they have chosen to support the Pearl of Africa Choir and the Yorkshire Swan & Wildlife Rescue Hospital.

The school council helps to manage the process of choosing one or two charities to support during the year and then each class arranges their own activity. Examples have included a dressing up day for the younger children, a cake stall held during break, and a range of different stalls painting nails and selling wares in the playground.

We sponsor children overseas through Action Aid and our children enjoy the letters we receive. We also support National Charity days such as Jeans for Genes and Comic Relief.
