At The Mount we believe in thinking globally in all aspects of the word. It means helping our girls to develop a confident awareness of their place in the world. Life at The Mount nurtures a sense of conscience, curiosity and compassion.
As a Quaker foundation we value each person for who they are; seeking to develop their strengths and celebrate their achievements. A visit to The Mount is the only way to really appreciate the level at which our girls confidently engage with the outside world.
Our classroom curriculum is designed to promote global thinking and encourages girls to be curious about the world. Whether inspired by Nobel Laureates through Peacejam to work for some of York’s most underprivileged citizens, or using local events to raise awareness of human rights abuses, Mount girls are noted for their compassion. Informed, active and responsive, our pupils are equipped to thrive in tomorrow’s global workplace.
"One of my role models is the 2003 Nobel Peace Laureate, Shirin Ebadi, a truly inspirational woman. I greatly admire her determination to convey the importance of women's rights in Iran, despite facing opposition from the Iranian government."
