Since September 2011 I have been working as a trainee solicitor at Bircham Dyson Bell, a law firm based in St James's Park in London, having previously spent two years at York College of Law completing my law conversion and Legal Practice Course. During the year in between I was employed by Rory Stewart MP, working in both Cumbria and Westminster. As Project Manager I ran his campaign to improve broadband access to rural Cumbria and was involved in community projects and constituency matters. I also spent two months living and working in Bologna teaching business English.

I completed my History Degree at St Edmund Hall, Oxford in 2008 and wrote my dissertation on Ghandi’s visit to Lancashire. For five months before Oxford I worked in West Bengal and have returned to the area to help establish a school and womens' group.

I have been brought up in a small community in an extremely rural part of Cumbria. I enjoy fell walking, grass tennis, real tennis, cooking, community projects, reading and theatre.

I am an old Mountie and was a boarder at the school between 1999 and 2002.
