College Artists Visit London Galleries

College Artists visit London’s Art galleries, beginning with the Tate Britain

Artists in College I and II enjoyed an exciting (but long!) day in London this week, visiting the capital’s Art galleries. Throughout the day, the girls gathered ideas for coursework and exam projects.

The group began at the Tate Britain where they drew and photographed the many exhibits including those in the stunning Pre Raphaelite Room.

Taking the River Taxi from the Tate Britain to the Tate Modern passing historic sights beside the Thames along the way, some saw the excellent Bonnard exhibition as well as the permanent displays.

“A walk across the Millennium Bridge and a tube ride took us back to the National Portrait Gallery in Trafalgar Square after which we experienced the bustle and beauty of Covent Garden at dusk,” said Sian Gabraitis, Head of Art.

Before departing for York, the happy group enjoyed a meal together opposite the British Library.
