Junior School Nativity Plays

Families and Friends of The Mount Junior School enjoyed stunning performances in, not one, but two nativity plays.

The two separate productions were the perfect to showcase the children’s manifold talents.

Girls and boys in J3 to J6 performed The Late Wise Man, by Denis Gorman and Barry Hart, which followed the hapless and kind-hearted Artaban, the fourth Wise Man, who trailed behind Caspar, Melchoir and Balthazar in following the Star of Bethlehem.

The younger children performed A Cheesy Tail, by our very own Jan Wilson and Melanie Burr, a hilarious story of some rather hungry and disgruntled mice in the barn as the various visitors came to pay their respects to the baby Jesus.

Presenting two separate plays made it possible for the older children to really get their teeth into more dramatic and challenging roles, while the younger children enjoyed the songs and lines in a fun story that let their imaginations bring the Nativity to life.

The Mount has a well-earned reputation for excellence in the performing arts, with many pupils in the Junior School opting to take drama studies with the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA). In recent years, the school has received 100% Distinctions for all pupils in the Junior School taking LAMDA examinations.
