Congratulations to Lilia (Y7) who has been cast as one of the Oakmoor School pupils in the new touring production of Nativity! The Musical.
She was announced as one of fourteen Oakmoor children following extensive national auditions which had over 3,500 applicants.
Lilia was successfully cast in the Nottingham leg of the national tour, as she has close family living nearby.
Lilia’s mother, Sarah, said The Mount made it possible for Lilia to juggle her studies and performance schedule to take part in what promises to be an unforgettable production.
The touring company will star Charlie Brooks (Eastenders), Simon Lipkin (Avenue Q, Rock of Ages, Guys & Dolls), Scott Garnham (Billy Elliot, Made in Dagenham) and Ashleigh Gray (Wicked).
Rehearsals begin shortly, with Lilia and the cast performing on the Theatre Royal stage in Nottingham from Wednesday 21 to Sunday 25 November.
The Mount School York has a respected reputation for performing arts, with many pupils excelling in music, drama, dance and public speaking. Plans are currently underway for the school to build a new performing arts hub within the School grounds.
