London’s First Female Mobile DJ

Junior School girls had a very special visitor yesterday. Dr Singer was London’s first-ever female mobile disc jockey (DJ) in the 1970s where she known professionally as “The White Witch”. She told the girls a lot of interesting details about the London music scene in the 1970s, such as that teenagers had not been officially counted until that time. Before the 1970s official figures had only counted children and adults. Thanks to artists like the Beatles and Elvis, teenagers were recognised as having their own music and preferences.

“Dr Singer’s talk was really interesting.” – Hannah
