Join The Mount’s Choir when they perform in June in an exciting new Proms event which aims at promoting local talent.  Organised by the popular Yorkshire Tenor, Jacob Walsh, An Enchanted Evening will take place at the stately Escrick Park Estate, also featuring Mezzo Ionica Adriana and pianist Matthew Collins.

The Mount’s Choir became involved in the event when Jacob invited them to join the bill after hearing them sing in the School’s Christmas Meeting which was broadcast on YO1 Radio.

Jacob, who is keen to promote home grown talent, told the students, “I’ve always wanted to use local talent and local voices, and I’m really excited to be working with you all. The Choir will not be “my support act”, I am sharing the stage with you.”

Head of Music, Rachel Derbyshire, said, “To be asked to perform with a virtuoso of Jacob’s and Ionica’s calibre is a singer’s dream come true.”

At a recent launch for the event, Jacob and the Choir performed Stephen Adam’s The Holy City and Puccini’s Nessun Dorma.

An Enchanted Evening takes place on 9 June, and tickets are available at EventBrite
