Yesterday, pupils from Year 1 upwards took to the streets of York to recognise both The Mount School’s Quaker heritage within the city and to raise money for Plan UK.

Congratulations to all of our Junior School gardeners (and dedicated staff!) who have worked so hard over the past months to create two wonderful garden spaces and achieving their RHS Five Star School Gardening Award.

It is with sad hearts that we at The Mount learned today of the untimely loss of Anna Louise Swabey.

Experimenting with converting energy

A group of College girls from The Mount had an amazing weekend in Brussels meeting Nobel Peace Laureates at the PeaceJam International Student Leadership Conference in early September.

The Mount Senior School celebrated another strong year for A Level results with well over a third of pupils achieving two or more A*-A grades and 70% of all entries at grade B or above.

A few weeks ago we were contacted by the BBC in Cardiff about a documentary they are making about Brynmawr Furniture.

We unveiled our English Heritage blue plaque to mark the building in which renowned composer George Butterworth (1885-1916) lived in his youth.

Our Sixth Form College scientists are this week visiting the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland at the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN).
