Pantomime season is upon us… Oh yes, it is!

On two separate occasions, pupils enjoyed trips to the pantomime this last week. Girls in years 7 and 8 took a well-deserved break from their usual scheduled lessons to attend a morning performance of ‘A Christmas Carol’. The group travelled to Hull Truck Theatre, where the play was showing in Association with Leeds Playhouse. The stage adaptation of Dicken’s classic was written by Deborah McAndrew and provided the girls with an abundance of thought-provoking activities to accompany the dazzling performance.

The pupils in the Boarding House ventured into Leeds City Centre for their Pantomime. It was a twist on an old favourite for the girls as they went to see Dick Whittington: The ‘n’ Roll Panto at Leeds City Varieties Music Hall. The unique production effortlessly combined the traditional audience participation and cheesy humour expected at the panto, with a soundtrack of classic rock ‘n’ roll anthems and modern pop tunes.

Both shows provided a hearty dose of Christmas cheer and certainly added to the excitement of this time of year.
