At The Mount Pre-School we know how important it is for parents to be involved in these early years of learning. Alongside the bespoke care and attention we provide our pupils, we also have excellent communication with home.
When your child starts Pre-school they will be given a Key Worker
This is a member of staff in the Pre-school who will be the first point of contact for you and your child. Your Key Worker will talk to you about your child’s daily routines and activities. You will also be able to voice with them any instructions or concerns you may have.
It is so important for children to share their home experiences with the Pre-school staff and their friends. Each child in the Butterfly Room has a home/school book which you can write about things you have been doing at home or during the weekend. This is a lovely way for staff to find out more about your child’s hobbies and interests. All children in our Pre-School class also have a personal online learning journey ‘Tapestry’ which records photos, observations and comments to build up a record of your child’s experience during their time in Pre-School. These observations will indicate the area of learning taking place and your child’s development within this area. You will be provided with access to the records and will be able to view and contribute to their learning journey.
To keep you informed of events happening in School staff will write messages outside the Pre-school classroom. Most forms of communication, including newsletters will be sent home via email. Letters which require written consent will be sent home with the children or by post.
