As pupils settle into their well-deserved break and the abundance of Easter chocolates and festivities takes over, we take this time to reflect on the achievements and successes of the previous term.
Volunteering and Charitable Donations
In keeping with current world affairs, UNICEF Ukraine was the charity of choice for several school events. Proceedings were initiated by the ‘Prayer Chain for Peace in Ukraine’. This was a collaboration with All Saints School to show solidarity with the innocent people affected by the conflict.
This term also saw the return of the ‘Great Mountie Bake off,” where over £550 was raised for UNICEF. Other charitable efforts for Ukraine included, ‘Red Nose Day’ in which pupils interpreted ‘British Icons’ and dressed in costume to raise over £280.
Year 10 girls also proudly participated in the ‘Yorkits’ community workshop at York Minster. They constructed washable, easy to use, feminine hygiene kits for girls in developing countries.
Sporting Successes
Alongside academic and humanitarian accomplishments, The Mount pupils have been successful in various sporting events.
