Girls in Years 3 and 4 spent a fantastic day as Roman soldiers, learning about the Ancient world, learning new skills (well, actually very, very, very old skills), enjoying a feast and even having a visit from a Roman Centurion! (a.k.a. Mr Spiers, Head of History).
“I really liked when Mr Spiers came in and he trained us to be Roman soldiers. He really scared us when he arrived!” – Isabelle
“I think it was a good experience, because we got to try many different Roman activities and also to eat their food.” – Lana
“Eating while sitting on the floor was my favourite bit. We also got to hold a proper gladiator sword.” – Phoebe

Our head of History in the Senior school came to inspect our Roman legion and put them through their paces. He was very impressed! #history #roman #ancientrome #bringinglearningtolife #explore pic.twitter.com/UOzPsr4TME
