S8 Visit Flamborough & Holderness Coast

Investigating sea defences (a rock groyne) at Mappleton

S8 pupils recently went on an exciting Geography trip to Flamborough Head and the Holderness Coast.

The girls learnt about and saw ‘first hand’ the landforms and processes they had been learning about in lessons; such as caves, arches, stacks and wave cut platforms. They also witnessed the effects of erosion on the Holderness coast and how it has been managed.
