It is a truth universally acknowledged that a Mount girl in possession of a hiking kit, must be in want of an expedition.
Well done to our Silver Duke of Edinburgh team who over the weekend set off into the wilds of the Yorkshire Dales to complete their practice expedition.
They did brilliantly in less than favourable conditions, starting out near Ribblehead, crossing over to Dent and the waterfall at Hardraw before finishing at Askrigg. The night skies had no light pollution and the girls were rewarded with truly stunning vistas when the clouds cleared.
The girls will complete their final expedition in the Spring Term. Through our school’s unique Quaker ethos, Mount girls are encouraged to think and live adventurously, explore the world around them and be inspired by the natural world.
