The Mount School York is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed Head of History with effect from September 2021. The successful candidate must be able to teach History to GCSE and A Level. The role is part-time (approximately 70% for the 2021-2022 academic year) with scope for the role to grow to become full-time in the future.
There is also an opportunity for a suitably experienced candidate to combine the Head of History role with a role as Head of Sixth Form. The Sixth Form at The Mount, called College, is a centre for academic excellence with students going on to study at a range of top universities both in the UK and abroad. The successful candidate will work closely with the College Tutor Team to support students through the UCAS process and prepare them for life beyond school.
Applications for the Head of History, or for the Head of History combined with the Head of Sixth Form, are invited from ambitious, talented individuals who are passionate about teaching and working with young people. There is a requirement for the successful candidate to also give to the extra-curricular programme of the School.
