Resident Graduate Boarding Assistant

The Mount School York is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and energetic Resident Graduate Boarding Assistant

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic and supportive boarding school environment. While this job description outlines key responsibilities, it is not exhaustive, and flexibility will be essential.

The successful candidate will be fully committed to the ethos and values of a busy boarding school, providing exceptional pastoral care and supporting the personal and academic development of each boarder. A strong sense of humour, adaptability, innovation, and the ability to work long hours are key requirements for this role.

In addition to boarding responsibilities, there is the opportunity to contribute to a specialist area such as PE and Games, Music, Primary Education, Nursing, or Administration.

This is a term-time only, residential position and accommodation is provided.

We welcome applications from graduates or individuals with relevant educational backgrounds or experience. This role would be ideal for a recent graduate seeking a gap year opportunity before pursuing further studies or a long-term career in education.

This is a fixed-term post for 11 months, running until July 2026. As The Mount School is an all-girls school, and this position is for a Resident Graduate within an all-girls boarding house, we seek to appoint female graduates for this role.

Starting date: September 2025

The Mount School York is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
