The Mount hosted teams of pupils from Fulford School, Joseph Rowntree School and Manor Academy for the annual Faraday Challenge by the Institute of Engineering and Technology.
The IET posed to the teams a challenge based on real-life engineering problems, and the six teams of six pupils had to work together to create and present their solutions.
Caroline, on The Mount’s team, said, “My favourite part of the day was building the product and acquiring the technology to do so.” Her teammate, Beatrice, said, “It was a very intense project. We worked nonstop throughout the whole day. We had a half hour break for lunch but we used the time to talk about our product. There wasn’t even time to get to know the other teams.” Caroline and Beatrice felt their team had very good communications.
