The girls were delighted today to meet Team GB athlete, Amy Hillyard, who visited the School on behalf of Sports for Champions. Girls had been invited to fundraise in support of Sports For Champions and also to assist sports facilities for the school.
Amy is a runner and the girls hope to see her representing the country in the upcoming Tokyo Olympic Games.
Amy shared with the girls her story of how she became an elite-level athlete, her training regime and what it takes to become a champion. Senior School girls watched from School Hall, distanced and sitting in their respective bubbles, while Junior pupils watched live footage of Amy’s presentation from their Form Rooms. Amy then met the girls in groups in the Sports Hall to take them through some innovative circuit drills and present the top fundraisers with prizes. The girls enjoyed races and having time to interact with the star athlete.
