The Mount School pupils have access to facilities that reflect our position as one of the leading independent schools in the North. We are committed to the future development of our historic, tranquil 16-acre site, enabling us to continue to offer outstanding accommodation and modern, up-to-date resources across all aspects of life at The Mount.
Modernising The Mount
In the past 10 years through the generosity of Old Scholars, parents and friends, the Mount School York Foundation has funded the modernising the Horse Boxes, the individual study spaces for girls studying for their GCSEs; a new Junior School Life Sciences Room; a wildlife garden and Enchanted Garden for the Junior School; and a new Junior School library.
On-going plans for continued capital development include: a new Performing Arts Auditorium; resurfacing the netball courts; refurbishing boarding facilities and refurbishing the swimming pool.
Performance Arts Hub Appeal
The Mount School’s vision is to build a purpose-built drama and dance studio, adjoining the current hall, which would be used for classes and small-scale performances. This will then be followed by a remodelling of the Hall into a more flexible performance space. The final stage would be to construct an atrium joining the new facilities with a refurbished Music Block. We would like to see the School’s strong tradition of performance develop for future generations of Mount Pupils. If you would like to help our vision become a reality please visit out How to donate page.
Sport Facilities Refurbishment
The Mount School’s sports programme is designed to instill a love of physical activity in all of our pupils aswell as inspire sports men and women of the future. The Mount School had plans to develop our current sports facilities by extending the outdoor tennis and netball court provision and refurbishing the Swimming Pool.
