Congratulations to the New College Leaders

The new College Leadership Team was announced this week. Congratulations to Mary, Sophie, Abi and Lily in College I, who were selected after undergoing an application process which included interviews and presentations with the Principal Adrienne Richmond, Deputy Principal Bridget Perks and Head of College Michael Spiers plus other key members of staff.

The Team we feel is a good mix of personalities and the girls have complementary skills and we hope, therefore, that the Team will be representative of the whole of College as the girls gel together in their new roles,” said Ms Richmond.

The girls’ first order of business will be to organise the Leavers’ Supper and celebrations. They also have the honour of reinvigorating the post-covid College Common Room, parts of which had been mothballed pending safer times.

The outgoing team of Denva Elise, Georgia and Naomi, who are currently undergoing their A-Level assessments, offered their successors their congratulations.

“I would like to say a HUGE congratulations to the new College Leadership team! It was lovely to see their smiles yesterday, celebrating the news. The new team is a bunch of strong independent women whom I have no doubt will be exceptional role models to those in younger years, but also lead the School into the future. We have already created a TEAMs group chat to facilitate the transition period and support them in any way we can. The four of us have thoroughly enjoyed our time as the College Leadership Team, and we hope the new team will do so too. Once again, a MASSIVE well done to the girls who applied as well as those who were successful, you should all be so proud of yourselves. And a little bit of advice to the new team… ‘Listen‘; listen to your peers and other Year groups. Listening to what concerns them, worries them, and their suggestions will help shape your agenda for each Meeting, as the four of you are a voice for all the girls at The Mount. Wishing you all the best of luck, and WELL DONE TEAM!! – Georgia

Elise, Georgia, Naomi and Denva wish the new College Leadership Team the very best

“I congratulate the new Team on their role and remind them to be proud of their achievements, as the process of selecting the College Leadership Team is a rigorous one. I advise them to be brave and confident in putting forward their ideas and dreams: they now have the opportunity to make a real difference within the School and make the changes they’d like to see. Finally I’d tell them to savour the time, as even though the Meetings and planning seem stressful, there will be a point when they reach the end of their time at the School and want to do it all over again!” – Naomi
