Happy Lunar New Year!

Girls are enjoying celebrating the start of the new Lunar New Year of the Tiger.

Angelina and Ruby made a presentation this morning during Form Time to girls in Years 7 and 8, sharing information about the traditions, cultural insights, history and how the festival is celebrated in modern times.

Yesterday, College girls had a special Choc Lunch in which Angel and Ruth shared special traditional home-made treats which they prepared during the weekend. Our boarders festooned the School House stairways with beautiful decorous lanterns and fairy lights before enjoying a delicious meal together.

The Lunar New Year, which is also known as 설날, Tết Nguyên Đán, Spring Festival and, of course, Chinese New Year, is celebrated throughout the world and has a lovely tradition of celebration at The Mount.
