Hope Sparkles and Shines in Nativity! The Musical

Hope in Year 5 has been having a brilliant time performing in Pick Me Up Theatre’s latest production; Nativity! The Musical recently.
Playing the role of Laila/The Sick Girl, Hope has enjoyed an impressive 10-day run at The Grand Opera House, with her final performance scheduled this coming weekend.
The feel-good, laugh-a-minute stage show is an adaptation of the festive favourite film of the same name, starring David Tennent and Martin Freeman. Featuring sing-along smash hits such as Sparkle and Shine and Nazareth, the musical is destined to have everyone in the audience bopping in their seats, including our Mount girls.
Hope was joined by some fellow pupils last week as the group of girls came out in support of Hope and to cheer her on from the crowd. Nativity! The Musical holds a particularly special place in the heart of Hope and her family as sister Lilia (year 11) previously starred in the professional U.K. tour 4 years ago.“I’ve really been looking forward to following in my sister’s footsteps and to get to do it locally is great.” – Hope
The local production company, Pick Me Up Theatre continue to support homegrown talent and regularly cast pupils from The Mount School, allowing them to gain invaluable stage experience, and showcase their skills and performing abilities in front of a paying audience.
They are running the Sound of Music in December, which pupils Katelyn and Lana in year 9 will be performing in.
