Mount Music Scholars Wow Audience with an Evening of Enchanting, High-Quality Performances
Finalists for Small Independent School of the Year two years’ running, we always put on wonderful music recital evenings as if we choose from a pool of thousands of musicians!
On Tuesday, an audience was treated to an eclectic evening of entertainment from our Senior School music scholars.
Fifteen performances across a wide variety of instruments and singing performances enchanted gathered friends and family.
Hope, Jess, Izzy, Juliette and Agnes soothed and roused the room with their excellent voice skills including classical and musical theatre pieces, and songs in French like Juliette’s amazing Les Trois Rubans.
Nico, Lorelei, Phoebe, Karalee, Immy, Lizzy, Clemmie, Peggy and Zoe would not be out of place in the Royal Albert Hall with their beautiful interpretations of pieces on a variety of instruments including cello, clarinet and saxophone. Nico also played a moving French piece on piano, La Velocite.
The standard of music just gets better at The Mount, and our new Sixth Form intake has added another layer of orchestral excellence.
We can’t wait for the exciting music events coming up this festive term including Prep School’s charming Harvest Festival on Monday 20 October, our Chamber choir singing outside The Ivy on Thursday 13 November, and the Living North Christmas Fair at York Racecourse on Friday 21 November – do come along!
Not to mention the Christmas Concert, Wednesday 3 December and Christmas Meeting, Saturday 13 December, the highlight of the season.
