New College Leadership Team, House Captains & Head of Pupil Voice Appointed

Congratulations to the newest cohort who assumed their responsibilities once College II began their study leave.

The new College Leadership Team consists of six girls: Ko-Yu, Ursie, Amelia, Imy, Olivia and Isla. The girls submitted formal applications for their candidacy and, following a robust selection process which imitates the real-world experience of applying for employment, the incoming team was announced.

James Waddington, Head of College said: “These positions of responsibility are essential within The Mount and allow the girls selected to get a real taste of responsibility and female leadership before going off to university, apprenticeships or to the workplace. We value all their individual commitments to being the change they wish to see within school and can’t wait to see what they will achieve in their tenure. Congratulations for being appointed – the process involves careful thought and preparation, and is competitive – and enjoy these special roles, so valued every day at The Mount.”

Amelia said: “I’ve been at The Mount since I was in Prep School; I’ve always aspired to be a member of the CLT.” She spoke of her aims: “I’m a strong believer in the benefits of nature – I want to campaign for more outdoors related events.”

Ursie said: “The CLT is a great opportunity for making a change and being involved in the workings of the school. I’m particularly excited about organising our annual leavers’ event.”

This year is the first that a Head of Pupil Voice has been appointed. The role involves holding school council meetings and acting as a spokesperson for pupils.

Izzy, Head of Pupil Voice, said: “My aim is to collaborate with pupils and staff to bring about change. I’ve enjoyed hosting school and food councils, and I’ve had the idea of starting a charity council too.”

Each of the four houses has also had a new House Captain appointed.

Frys – Zoe W

Cadburys Zoe S

Terrys – Ava

Zoe W, Frys’ House Captain said: “My primary aim is to strengthen relationships between year groups of the pupils within Frys”

Well done to all the girls selected this year, and we look forward to seeing the meaningful differences they will make in their new roles, modelling our Quaker values of making a positive contribution to our changing world and respecting and valuing every individual.
