Congratulations to Rosalind and Bethanie, who each won their respective categories in the Ilkley Literature Festival creative writing competition. The girls have been invited to attend the Festival in person to claim their prizes and read their winning entries.
Rosalind’s poem, “Bearer” was inspired by the birth of her younger sister. Bethanie’s winning entry is a searing poem entitled, “I Don’t Love You”.
Congratulations also to Isobel, who was Highly Commended for her entry, a short story called “Haunted”.
The Festival organisers said they received just under 250 entries for the secondary school categories.
