Prowess on the Sports Field

Junior School biathletes enjoyed a wonderful opportunity to flex their running and swimming muscles when Amelia and Anabel in Y6 staged a fundraising biathlon in aid of the Little Princess Trust. 21 athletes from Year 3 to Year 6 took part in the sponsored event and, in addition to the funds that Amelia and Anabel raised from cutting their long locks, they have raised over £1000 for the charity. Amelia and Anabel ran the event as part of their JASS award.

Congratulations to Seren and Becky who have both qualified for the next round of the York Schools Sports Network Cross Country championships. Our Cross Country squad competed on a very wet and cold day but they showed great resilience. Well done, all!

Well done to our Senior Hockey team who won a very exciting and competitive game against Bootham, to secure a 1-0 win.

Our Junior Netball teams also fared very well, with U11 A and B Netball both winning against Bootham Juniors.

U13 Netball played a league match against Archbishop Holgate’s and managed a late goal to win the match 7-8. Well done to the entire team and to Harriet who was named Player of the Match.

U15 A&B Netball teams played league matches against Sherburn School with the As winning 14-9 and the Bs losing 9-18. Our Senior Netball teams also played against Harrogate Ladies College in very tough matches.

A huge thanks to the College and Year 6 girls who assisted with hosting the YSSN Year 3 & 4 Quadkids Competition.
