We are thrilled to welcome Ian Murphy back to The Mount for another week-long Art summer school from Monday 18 August – Friday 22 August 2025.

International Fine Artist Ian Murphy will help students to develop new creative skills and enhance their sketching and work with mixed media. This summer school is the ideal opportunity for students looking to strengthen their portfolio and creative practice ahead of their GCSE or A Level examinations.
Students will:
- Develop fine-line pen and graphite drawing skills
- Experiment with mixed media and really push their creative boundaries
- Enhance their skills in perspective drawing
- Work on various individual pieces through a series of daily technical tasks
- Work collaboratively on a large-scale group painting project.
The Ian Murphy Art Summer School is aimed at pupils Year 9 and up, and is the ideal opportunity for pupils looking to strengthen their portfolio and creative practice ahead of their GCSE or A Level examinations.
The bespoke course is aimed at pupils both from The Mount and pupils from other local schools/colleges.
