Art Appreciation at Design Museum and V&A

Art pupils across Year 9 to College I travelled to London on Saturday to enjoy a day of art appreciation in the capital.

The group visited the Design Museum, the world’s leading museum devoted to contemporary design in every form, and the Victoria and Albert Museum. Amongst the creative installations housed in the V&A, the girls located the glass sign designed by The Mount School’s, Ms Atkinson. Ms Atkinson created the piece during her time studying at the renowned Royal College of Art. The eclectic mix of art, design and performance theatre on show ensured that every student’s interests were catered for, and an exciting and inspiring day was had by all.

“The Design Museum was really useful for my DT, and there was so much to see at the V&A”. – Lucy, Year 10
