Izzy Goes for Gold at Yorkshire Athletics Championships
Congratulations to Izzy, College I who competed in the Yorkshire Athletics Championships in Cudworth over the weekend.
In affiliation with her club, City of York Athletics, Izzy attended the Country Track and Field Championships where she won Gold in the U20 Pole Vault and placed 5th in the U20 200m.
The sun shone as the 2 day event took place, with competitors travelling from across the County to compete in front of proud families and paying spectators.
An athletics club regular and talented sportsperson, Izzy came away having had a fantastic weekend, and a sporting achievement to be proud of. She was just as keen to celebrate her friends and fellow teammates efforts too, saying:
“I’m really pleased with how I performed in the 200m race at the weekend. We were very lucky with the weather as we had perfect conditions for sprinting. I had a really good weekend celebrating my friends’ achievements too!” – Izzy, College I
