Celebrating High Achievers and Welcoming Academic Scholarship Applicants
With GCSE Results Day 2022 approaching this week, The Mount School York looks forward to celebrating high achievers and welcoming those who have excelled academically, beyond their initial expectations.
As part of the school’s philanthropy commitment, we offer a means-tested Academic Scholarship/bursary for applicants from maintained schools who achieve 7+ Grade 7/8/9 at GCSE. Successful scholarships are secured after the public examination result in on Thursday 25 August.
The Mount School Bursary Fund provides financial support to allow academically able pupils to access an unrivalled educational experience at The Mount School. Scholarships and bursaries are means- tested and based on a combination of need, and outstanding abilities. Each scholarship takes into consideration the welfare and the aspirations of each pupil, and offers them academic excellence combined with the nurturing ethos parents desire for their daughter.
Successful pupil Gemma joined The Mount as an Academic Scholar for her Sixth Form studies. She recently collected her A Level results and was overjoyed with her achievements. She said, “I am really happy I’ve got two As and 3 A*s. It has been a strange two years after Covid and at times stressful because I took four subjects, but it has all been worth it! I am going to the University of York to study Psychology. I am incredibly grateful for all the support I received during my A Levels. The teachers at The Mount were always there to guide us if we had questions. They were so supportive, sometimes you didn’t have questions, but you just needed them to be there.”
The friendly and welcoming environment of The Mount enables girls from all backgrounds to flourish, amongst like- minded individuals and free from gender stereotypes. The Mount School champions all subjects equally and through a bespoke curriculum, girls confidently achieve across all subjects. Thus, enabling them to strive in a plethora of engaging and exciting career opportunities as they progress.
