Chloe is Elite Netball League U12 Player of the Match

Congratulations to Chloe in Year 7 who was named Player of the Match in the Elite Netball U12 League in Halifax over the weekend.

Chloe, who is a keen sportswoman, said, “I went out to Halifax to play in the Elite Netball League. I was put into a team, called Unity, which included girls from all around the area. It was our first time playing together. There were quite a few other League teams playing before us and after us. We did really well, winning 16-10, which was nice. I played in Goal Defence and Centre, and was proud of myself. Afterwards the coach came up and told me I was Player of the Match. Our team chose the Player of Match from the other team. I enjoy the Elite Netball sessions at school. They challenge me and help me to improve. There are players there of all different abilities and we all enjoy the coaching.

The Mount has partnered with Elite Netball Academy to provide quality Netball coaching for girls age 12 – 16 years. The Tuesday afternoon sessions are not only popular but also incredibly beneficial to all participants.

Ms Howell, Head of PE, said, “It’s been a huge success with around 35 girls taking part in the exclusive sessions. The Elite Netball Academy also expands in numbers every week. It’s really challenging the girls fitness and pushing them every week that little bit further. They are learning different skills each week and it’s fantastic seeing every girls try 100% every week!

One parent even wrote in to say, “Such a long spell of not being able to enjoy team contact sports, due to pandemic restrictions, was beginning to take its toll. Thank you for reinvigorating my daughter’s passion for the game.
Elite Netball Academy currently host a Netball League every Saturday for Year 7 age (U12) players. As restrictions are lifted, the League can encompass more age groups.
