Junior School Festive Musical Recital
Before an audience of proud friends and family, musicians from Junior School took to the stage in the Main Hall this afternoon to perform a selection of musical arrangements.
The recital programme featured a light dusting of Christmas magic as festive classics such as Walking in the Air and When Christmas Comes to Town were beautifully performed by the group singers, along with musical performances on a mixture of string, brass, and woodwind instruments.
Upon arrival, guests were invited to relax and enjoy refreshments as an eager excitement for the upcoming performances built. The first solo of the afternoon was beautifully performed on the recorder by Nora as she opened the show with Amazing Grace. Further recorder performances ensued throughout the afternoon, with Susannah playing Waltzing Matilda, and the two musicians joining forces to perform Now is the Month of Maying.
Laila on piano introduced Minuet in C, followed by Ella on Cello to perform Edelweiss, and Phoebe on Piano to demonstrate Hedwigs Theme. Intertwined with the musicians’ performances, soloist Agnes performed Somewhere My Love and the Key Stage 2 choir also entertained the audience with Winter Sleigh Ride, ensuring spirits were at an all-time festive high as the curtain fell on yet another fantastic Junior School Music Recital.
