Pupils in Years 11 – 13 headed to the Yorkshire National Apprenticeship Show in Harrogate this week to explore what apprenticeship opportunities are available to them in the future.
As an alternative study route to traditional A levels, National Diplomas and even higher education, the expansion of apprenticeship options is enabling more and more pupils to achieve their career aspirations whilst receiving on-the-job, practical training and a wage.
The event is being held over two consecutive days and welcomes local and national employers, global organisations and private training providers to exhibit. Attendees of the trip were invited to walk through the Event Centre and visit the stands of interest to them, gathering as much information as they desired. Amongst those exhibiting in Harrogate were the logistics organisation, ‘Culina Group’, ALDI, Yorkshire Agricultural Society, York St John University and many more across a wide breadth of subject areas.
