On Your Marks, Get Set, Bake! – The Great Mountie Bake Off 2026
This year’s Great Mountie Bake Off was a resounding success, with hundreds raised for our wonderful school charity this year, York Against Cancer.
Pupils across the whole school put their aprons on ahead of the popular annual event. Biscoff cupcakes, gooey brownies and a Rubik’s Cube sponge were just some of the many sweet treats on display as pupils competed across three categories: cakes, traybakes or cookies and ‘free-from’.
The Mount’s catering team had the lucky job of judging the competition, tasting each entry carefully and judging them on flavour, presentation and creativity.
Entries were then auctioned off to an excitable crowd of pupils, their families and staff, as money was raised for our school charity York Against Cancer. Thank you to all who baked, bid and bought these deliciously delectable treats.
Head of Catering and Judging, Ben Wallace said: “There were some wonderful and creative cakes this year. Everyone worked really hard. I’d be happy to offer any of them a job in the school kitchen in the future! Judging this wide variety of scrumptious bakes was so enjoyable but not an easy task to select winners with so much culinary talent on display.
The whole school community listened eagerly as the results were read aloud:
