Mount Girl Molly Becomes Youngest Ever Medal Winner at Harrogate Flower Show

Molly’s inventive and creative display, ‘Molly’s Jungle Book,’ wowed judges at the competitive show, earning Molly a coveted silver gilt medal. At 11 years old, she is the youngest exhibitor ever to receive this honour – her talent is clearly blossoming!

Molly spoke of the display’s concept: “I love reading, especially in areas of nature, so the idea is that my display is a natural oasis for reading.”

This chimes with the whole Mount School community’s love of reading, a place often described by visitors, and our Head, Anna Wilby, as an “oasis in the city”.

Head of Prep School, Rachel Capper, said: “Molly’s creativity and green thumbs have been so deservedly rewarded. Congratulations. We have wonderful green spaces at The Mount where our Prep pupils love to read, and Molly has cleverly created her own.”

Molly is already planning to use her prize money to buy a 3D printer, which will allow her to further improve future displays.

This is a fantastic achievement. Well done, Molly, everyone at The Mount is proud of you.
