Pupils throughout the school years gathered to celebrate Sports Day yesterday, which made a triumphant return to the school calendar following several years of disruption.
In idyllic scenes, the sun shone down as spectators of proud parents awaited the arrival of their sporting superstars. A wide variety of activities, from shotput, to rocket throw, hula hooping and the classic egg and spoon were set up as the girls carouseled around the different stations, gathering points as they went.
Working in their House Groups and led by their chosen House Captains, the teams showed excellent sportsmanship and teamwork as they cheered each other on, offering support and encouragement where needed.
The afternoon concluded with a House relay, with representatives from across the year groups taking part to take on the challenge of the final race of the day. As proceedings drew to a close, Mrs Greenwood took centre stage to announce the highly anticipated results:
Junior School Joint Winners: Cadbury & Rowntree
Overall Seniors & House Winners: Fry
Alongside an epic afternoon of activities, refreshments kindly provided by the MSA Café stall ensured that all participants, and those watching from the side-lines, were kept well hydrated and nourished. Once everyone had caught their breath, the girls gathered to enthusiastically discuss their favourite parts of the day.

“The 600 metres was mine” Amelia
“I liked the shot put” – Lilia
“I really like the long jump the best” – Yasmine

Year 9 and 10 Quotes:
