The Mount School launches new swim school in partnership with Adams Aquatics.
We are delighted to announce the launch of a new swim school and aquatic activities centre, in partnership with Adams Aquatics Swim School.
Launching in September, the partnership will run swimming lessons for children of all ages, training for swimming teachers and lifeguards, as well as coaching for athletes with intellectual difficulties. It will also open up a broader aquatic activities programme, such as sub-aqua and canoeing, for Mount pupils and the wider community.
The Mount and Adams Aquatics Swim School integrated offering is part of the school’s continuing strategic drive to connect with the wider community. By establishing this partnership, the Mount and Adams Aquatics Swim School will be able to create a ‘Centre of excellence for Aquatic Activities and Aquatic Training’ for the York community and beyond.

Swimming is such a valuable life skill to learn that is incredibly beneficial for both physical and mental health. Our 25-metre swimming pool is a vital asset to the school and provides essential learning opportunities for not only our pupils but children and adults in the local community.”

Adams Aquatics at The Mount will provide excellent swimming lessons for all ages and abilities, including the opportunity to progress to swim club level. The partnership will also open its doors to local schools to enhance school swimming lessons offering coaching and teaching to staff.

The partnership will also provide excellent training for swimming teachers and lifeguards. Debbie works as a ‘Train the Tutor’ for the Swimming Teachers Association (STA) to ensure the tutors are trained to high standards when delivering these courses. All courses will be open to pupils at The Mount as well as the wider community.

With 14 venues around the UK, 35 teachers/staff and over 1000 swimmers a week Adams Aquatics Swim School is a well-established swimming school.
