Pupils in the Junior School are gearing up for the arrival of British Science Week on the 10 March as they took part in a range of fun and engaging scientific experiments this week.
Years 5 and 6 incorporated a delicious treat into their investigations into osmosis. They placed gummy bears in different liquids and left them overnight to see how they changed. They then wrote an explanation for what they think may have happened to their bear and why. The sweetie theme continued into the next experiment as the girls learnt about diffusion. The sugary coating on skittles demonstrated perfectly the process and created an equally impressive rainbow effect.
Years 3 and 4 have been learning about the skeleton in their science lessons and took it in turns to film presentations. Barry the skeleton was the star of the show and helped them to explain the different bones and joints.
