Junior School Jetsetters Head to Spain

Pupils in Junior school grabbed their passports and were headed on a round trip to Spain this morning courtesy of Wilson Vale who provided the ‘in flight’ catering for the first ‘taste buddies’ session of the new term.

The smell of delicious ingredients filled the air as the girls queued patiently to try the Spanish cuisine on offer, which included the Spanish staple of patatas bravas and a lightly sparkling sangria mocktail, complete with fresh seasonal fruits.

As the girls tucked into their beautifully presented tastings, they chatted together about what they enjoyed the most, and how they wished they could devour more.

Discussing the patatas bravas, Lucy in Year 3 said, “This is lovely, this here, I loved it. I just wish I could have it again and again!”

“I want another one of these, it was so nice” – Alexa, year 3

Clemmie, in Year 6 is already a fan of Spanish food so knew a little bit about the flavours to expect, she adds, “I’ve had Spanish food before, Agnes and I when we go to each other’s house we always have paella, but this is amazing. I just want more, there isn’t enough of it”

The Junior School pupils were equally complimentary about the accompanying ‘sangria style’ drink. “It’s a little bit fizzy, but it’s nice.” – Charlotte, year 3

“I’m going to eat the orange, the mint and the strawberry – love it!” – Agnes, Year 6

Once they had tried the dish, pupils were invited to stamp their passports and check off that destination, showing they had sampled food from that place. Flicking through their passports, the girls were able to see where they would be headed on future taste buddies’ adventures.
