The Mount School Senior Choir put on a spectacular performance for guests of the Living North show as they welcomed them into the event with the sound of their melodic voices and musical talent.
Following the School’s contribution at the Christmas Fair, the Senior School Choir were delighted to be invited back to perform down at The Knavesmire, a short walk from the School.
Enjoying the mild spring weather, the choir were able to perform outdoors for the occasion, the sound of the choir carried beautifully all the way across the front of the facility. Guests were entertained by the senior choir in its entirety, as well as small ensembles and a range of soloists who performed pieces from the Spring Concert that happened earlier this month and some new pieces. As expected, ABBA classics Super Trouper and Mamma Mia were very popular with the crowd and generated a real buzz.
“The Choir, ensembles and soloists were fantastic, we had many compliments for their performance and also for how kind and considerate they were towards the people at the Living North Fair,” said Rachel Derbyshire, Head of Music
“Performing at Living North Spring Fair was very nice. It felt like we were surrounded by flowers and because of weather we were able to perform outside, which was lovely. We worked very well together as a choir because we’ve now been singing together longer, and the performances on Friday were much more harmonised than we have had since covid. My favourite performance was ‘Like a Singing Bird’ because the harmony goes into three parts, which all interweave together.” – Eleanor (College I)
