Senior Scholars’ Afternoon Tea

Recipients of Scholarships from September 2023 were invited to attend a celebratory afternoon tea on Tuesday afternoon in the Dining Hall.

With a selection of delectable sweet and savoury treats, and a warming mug of hot chocolate to wash it down with, the girls were in high spirits as they took part in a range of fun and sociable games.

The theme of the event in recognition of the upcoming International Women’s Day, was strong and inspiring women. The scholars were placed in mixed groups and tasked with a quiz designed to get them working together and utilising each of their strengths in the field of sports, performing arts, music and general knowledge. There was a buzz of excitement in the air as the teams worked their way through the picture round, question round and ‘match the women to the profession’ game.

The afternoon concluded with a speech from principal David Griffiths and a group photograph on the lawns to commemorate the day. The light-hearted nature of the quiz was the perfect opportunity for the girls to introduce themselves and chat with others ahead of September. With the start of friendships already blossoming, all that was left to do was to relax and enjoy the remainder of the cakes.
