The ‘Great Mountie Bake Off’ raises dough for Unicef

The Great Mountie Bake Off

The Dining Hall was choc-full of star bakers this week as pupils from across the school took part in the return of the ‘Great Mountie Bake Off’ for charity.

An overwhelming number of participants showcased their baking talents as over 40 sweet treats were submitted for judging in this years ‘Great Mountie Bake Off’. Entries were split across four categories, Cakes, Cupcakes, Free From and Biscuits. Creations were then judged by our expert catering staff, who took into consideration, presentation, creativity and perhaps most importantly, the taste.

Catering Manager, Ben and his team faced a tough (yet delicious) decision as the level of effort and enthusiasm was abundantly clear. After careful consideration, pupils and their parents gathered to hear the winners be announced and to get a slice of the action themselves, as each item was either auctioned off, or sold in lieu of donations.

The school’s chosen charity this year was UNICEF, with all proceeds raised going towards supporting those affected by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

The judging panel, and staff congratulated all those that took part in the event and thanked them for giving up their time and effort to produce such an array of impressive bakes. Thank you also to those who kindly donated, and helped to raise such a generous amount for UNICEF.
