A huge ‘Well done!” to our boarders who earlier today helped clean a staggering 400kg of rubbish in under two hours from a small section of a beach in Bridlington, along Yorkshire’s beautiful coastline.
“Whilst the girls were thrilled with the result of their efforts, it was truly horrifying to see what they were finding on our beaches. It was certainly eye-opening,” said Laura Rudd, Head of Boarding.
The girls really enjoyed the day and learned a lot. Everyone finished the day with a renewed commitment to reducing plastic use and plastic waste while clearing rubbish.
“The Marine Conservation Society runs beach cleans all over the country and anyone can join in. All you need to do is register online (free!) and turn up. They provide the gloves, bin bags and tell you all about the issues of that area. It is a great way to spend a few hours, and very rewarding,” says Laura Rudd.
