Kelly Clarey, Owner and Principal Teacher of PV Dance said: “We are thrilled to be in partnership with The Mount School to create a brand new and modern purpose-built dance studio for PV Dance. The new studio, changing rooms and waiting area are designed to meet our needs, allowing us to develop our goal of creating enjoyment and creativity in dance movement and encouraging pupils to strive towards a professional level. We are really looking forward to working with The Mount School who we know share our love of dance and the Arts.”
David Griffiths, Principal added: “I am delighted to offer Patricia Veale School of Dance a home at The Mount. We strongly believe dance and the arts offer our girls a medium for self-expression, passion, and emotion. The arts provide more than just creativity but develop life skills including confidence, perseverance, and focus. The Mount’s ethos is centred around inspiring and empowering confident young women, and we know that dance and the arts play a key role in this, that is why drama and dance are part of our curriculum and we offer Performing Arts Scholarships. Several of our current Scholars pursue their talents outside of school at PV Dance and I am thrilled to be able provide Kelly and her team with the facilities to develop the dance skills of many more in the wider York community.”
Building work on the new Dance Studio begins at the school over the summer holidays.
