Outstanding Results

In 2024, our pupils students truly excelled:

  • 50% of grades were A*-A
  • 83% of all grades were A*-B

These results mean Mount girls were the best in York City for A Level performance – an achievement we are extremely proud of. The Mount School was recognised in The Sunday Times as one of the top 10 Independent Schools for Academic Excellence in the North.

Mount Sixth Form students regularly secure places at their first-choice universities. Our graduates go on to a wide variety of institutions, with many accepting offers from top universities including Oxbridge, Russell Group universities, and even international universities.

Recent graduates have gone on to study at prestigious institutions like Durham, University College London, Manchester, London School of Economics, Edinburgh, and York. They pursue diverse courses such as Law, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, English Literature, Geography, Finance, and Biochemistry.

Girls in The Mount Sixth Form are offered extensive UCAS support when considering their future choices and making their University applications. The freedom of an all-girls’ environment means there are no stereotypes to future destinations or careers. Career aspirations are unlimited and girls are encouraged to believe in themselves. If girls want to study Engineering, Medicine, Fashion, Art, take a gap year or enter the world of work, perhaps via apprenticeships, we help them achieve this.
