Angelina in Year 9 pirouetted into second place at the Northern Schools Dance Competition held last month, receiving a medal and certificate for her stunning artistry.
The annual competition welcomes applications from schools across the North of England and offers them a place to showcase their dance talents. From after school dance clubs, to PE Dance pupils and beyond, the platform aims to encourage pupils to develop invaluable skills like teamwork, creativity and determination as they work to produce a performance they love.
Angelina placed in the Seniors category and was runner-up for her solo performance. To congratulate her on this fantastic achievement, Angelina will receive a medal and certificate which we look forward to awarding her with during Morning Meeting.
This is the second consecutive year that representatives from The Mount School have been successful in this category, with fellow pupil Lilia in Year 11 also cementing second place at the event in December 2021.
Angelina’s triumph comes hot off the heels of her invitation to attend the Centre for Advanced Training, where she will train weekly at the world-leading Dance School, the Northern School of Contemporary Dance based in Leeds.
All our school dancers, from years 3 – 11 will be performing at our upcoming Dance Showcase held in the School Hall on Wednesday 18th January 2023 6-7pm. On behalf of the dancers, and members of staff, we express our excitement at welcoming you to enjoy an evening of spectacular self-expression and creativity.
