Mount Girl Betsy Wins her First MMA Fight
Multi-talented Betsy won her debut bout in the second round.
A talented gymnast for many years and a keen rugby player and actress, Betsy recently began training in martial arts to grow her multi-faceted skillset to further her ambitions of becoming a stuntwoman.
She is working hard on her A Levels at The Mount Sixth Form to study Acting and Fight Performance at university.
Last weekend Betsy entered her first MMA competition and won. Her hard work was rewarded with ‘Performance of the Day’.
Betsy said: “I was glad to be a part of this intense event and though it was tiring, it was definitely worth it.” When asked how she trained for the day: “The key is consistency and hard work.”
Fiona Newman, Director of Sport said:
“We are incredibly proud of the determination and discipline Betsy has shown in her recent MMA competition. Betsy’s participation reflects resilience, courage, and a clear sense of purpose. She took up MMA as part of her ambition to pursue a career as a stunt performer, and she has consistently demonstrated the dedication and professionalism that goal requires. This achievement is a testament to Betsy’s hard work and her ability to challenge herself in a positive and constructive way.”
Everyone at The Mount is rooting for Betsy, and with her talent, determination and drive, we know she’ll continue to flourish.
