The Mount Announces Exciting New Partnership With Olympic Gold Medallist: Tom Dean Swim School
The Mount School York is very proud and excited to announce a partnership with Tom Dean Swim School (TDSS) starting in April, at our very own pool, the deepest in York.
Three-time Olympic medal winner Tom Dean MBE can’t wait until then, and will be at The Mount this Friday 21 February from 11.30-2pm to meet and greet fans, swimming enthusiasts and families who might be interested in signing up to lessons with TDSS, including pupils from The Mount School.
In the afternoon, he will also race a small, selected group of Mount pupils who already compete as elite swimmers in the area!

This exciting five-year partnership between Tom Dean Swim School and The Mount, will see TDSS bring their ‘Learn to Swim’ programme to the Yorkshire community starting on Saturday, 26 April 2025.
Swimming champion Tom Dean MBE brings with him an experienced team whose shared mission is to improve the swimming offering in the UK. This collaboration is great news, ensuring both Mount pupils and the wider community continue to benefit from our excellent swimming facilities combined with new, award-winning teaching processes.
The Swim School programme is built on industry-leading coaching techniques, featuring 23 bespoke technical enhancements, personally developed by Tom, to help swimmers refine their skills and build confidence in the water. Tom has become a leading figure in improving access to swimming in the UK since he competed at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, with his swim school already providing high quality teaching to thousands of people across the country.
